The second round comes to a conclusion on the fourth day’s play at the Manchester Open, as 16 more players try to make it through to the quarter-finals at the National Squash Centre.
There is English involvement in four of the eight matches, with both of the nation’s No.1’s in action. Sarah-Jane Perry, the World No.5, will take on Canadian Hollie Naughton, while Adrian Waller will do battle with Egypt’s Marwan ElShorbagy.
The other two English players involved on the fourth day of the tournament are Declan James and Alison Waters. The former takes on World No.3 Karim Abdel Gawad, while Waters is involved in an all-British clash with Welsh No.1 Tesni Evans.
Elsewhere, US No.1 Amanda Sobhy kicks off the day’s play against Belgium’s Tinne Gilis before the married couple of Ali Farag and Nour El Tayeb take the court in their respective clashes against France’s Gregoire Marche and Australia’s Donna Lobban.
The day ends with a match between two good friends, as the unseeded Swiss star, Nicolas Mueller, takes on Germany’s Simon Rösner for the final place in the last eight of the PSA Silver event.
