The Manchester Open gets underway today at the National Squash Centre in Manchester, with the 16 first round matches taking place across not one, but two glass courts!

Dutch No.2 Tessa ter Sluis and Hong Kong’s Tze Lok Ho kick things off on GC1, with Frenchwoman Marie Stephan taking on another of the Hong Kong cohort in the event, in Liu Tsz-Ling, to start the action on GC2.
All of the English involvement on the opening day will come on GC1, with former World No.1 James Willstrop the first to be on court, as he takes on Mexico’s Leonel Cardenas in the first men’s match of the day.
Current English No.1 Patrick Rooney will play in an-all British contest against Scotland’s Greg Lobban, before wildcard Julianne Courtice takes on Jasmine Hutton in an all-English duel in the opening match of the evening session. Adrian Waller will take on Mathieu Castagnet, before George Parker and wildcard Simon Herbert end the night’s action on GC1.
The Scottish duo of Georgia Adderley and Alan Clyne are among those in action on GC2 on the opening day of the competition, on a day which ends with Frenchman Lucas Serme taking on the in-form Swiss No.1 Nicolas Mueller.
